South Miami Hospital opened a new Emergency Center and Surgical Suites in January 2013.

Above the Emergency Center on the second floor, Surgical Services expanded to 16 state-of-the-art surgical suites. Following another phase, Surgical Services also will consist of 36 pre- and post-procedure rooms and a new Central Sterile Processing area.
